[presto] Thornpaw hasn't had the easiest time of things. The oldest of a litter of four, Thornpaw was expected to go far and accomplish much in life, but when he became an apprentice, something just wasn't right any more. No one is sure if something happened to Thornpaw to make him change and spiral, but whatever the case was, Thornpaw developed an addiction to poppy-- a common pain relieving medication, usually given only by the medicine cat. For several moons, he stole poppy from the medicine cat's den and used it to escape from what haunted him. [/presto]Eventually, his secret was found out by his younger brother, Briarfoot (-paw at the time), and while his younger sibling tried to help him quietly for two moons, when it became obvious that Thornpaw couldn't get clean by himself, Briarfoot exposed him. The resulting conflict ended up with Thornpaw missing his Warrior naming ceremony due to his actions, and now he must remain an apprentice until he is both clean and deemed fit by the new Windclan leader and other high ranking felines. Exactly how long he stays an apprentice is up to whoever takes him / the leader, of course, but hey, conflict. Thornpaw can be prickly these days, but he's trying to get himself in check. It's hard when he feels like the entire clan mistrusts him and has little faith in him. He struggles with his relationship with Starclan, as well as his siblings. At present, he is only truly close with their sister, Nettlewhisker. Any relationships he has with other cats in Windclan would be up to whoever claims this fellow and what they have in mind for him. Also note, whatever the reason is for Thornpaw's poppy addiction, if there even was one, is completely up to whoever takes him, but I do have a Super Secret Plot in mind that I could easily tie him into, if interested, just let me know. Thornpaw Windclan 14 moons troubled | [presto] Nettlewhisker is a strong she-cat of Windclan, and well known for her tracking abilities. Like her other siblings, she is long-bodied and short in height, but moons of training hard have given her finely toned muscles beneath her pelt that ripple with each step. She's level-headed and difficult to upset, and has a strong sense of duty. She and Briarfoot have always been close throughout their lives due to their similar natures and ways of viewing the world. [/presto]It seemed as though nothing could really shake Nettlewhisker or bring her down-- until one moon ago when she lost her litter of kittens. The pregnancy hadn't been planned at all, and on some level, she's a little bit grateful that it didn't pan out entirely, but her mind has been absent and trapped in the same cycle of thoughts. She hasn't told anyone about her miscarriage, especially not the would-be father, Aspenleaf. Other cats are starting to pick up on the fact that something is just a little off with Nettlewhisker as of late, but she has done an excellent job in keeping herself so busy that she doesn't have time to think about her recent loss. Keeping her three brothers in check is enough work without subjecting herself to the grief, hurt, and confusion bubbling up inside of her. Nettlewhisker Windclan 14 moons reliable |
[presto] It's not that Antclaw wants to be this way. He's tried to make himself normal, to suppress the violent thoughts and impulses, it just... didn't work. He wants desperately to feel the things he knows he's supposed to, but he can't. Instead, his mind is filled with violent impulses and images that he can't make go away, and every time he looks at someone he cares for, he can't help but think about pushing his paws down on their throats while they sleep... and it horrifies him. He struggles constantly with desiring close connections and isolating himself from other clan mantes. [/presto]He has a distant relationship with his siblings, and tends to avoid Nettlewhisker in particular since she is the most socially observant and more likely to get involved with his business. Other clan relationships are up to his adopter, but remember- he's a reluctant sociopath to start with. If he ever does become genuinely evil, it should be through RP. Antclaw Windclan 14 moons sociopathic | [presto] Foxfur is an admired Senior Warrior of Windclan, as well as the father of Briarfoot and his siblings, and his opinion goes quite a long way. He's known for being level-headed and fair, but firm enough to be strict where necessary. [/presto]There was a time not long ago when Foxfur's smile was a common sight, but as his beloved mate distanced herself abruptly from him, he was left grappling with himself and strange feelings. She never spoke to him of what went on, but he knew, a did everyone else. Foxfur eventually chose to pretend he wasn't as hurt by her abandonment as he was, and instead focused on continuing to raise and advise his growing children, and to provide what guidance he could for their new, admittedly very young leader. Foxfur has heavily romanticized ideals about life, and always pictured himself as a loving father and mate. He can be charming, but despite the ease with which he could move on from Mudfang, Foxfur can't bring himself to do it without talking to her, first... Unfortunately, she makes it a point not to be found. Foxfur Windclan 41 moons regretful |
[presto] Though she is the mother of Briarfoot, Nettlewhisker, Antclaw, and Thornpaw-- Mudfang could never be mistaken as a particularly motherly she-cat. She stayed in the nursery only as long as was necessary before returning to her warrior duties and allowing another queen to finish the job of preparing her litter for apprenticeship. Some might view her as cold, but she doesn't care. Strong-willed and ambitious, Mudfang was determined to become deputy, and then the next leader of Windclan. Only... she wasn't chosen as deputy. A younger, less experienced warrior, Sootnose (-star) was. Consumed with bitter resentment, Mudfang has yet to show much respect for her leader, despite the rift it causes between her and her son, Briarfoot. She feels that her hard work and dedication to the clan for many moons and the ferocity with which she fought to protect its borders had been overlooked. For what, she still isn't sure. Mudfang's negative attitude towards recent events has put a strain on her already fairly distant relations with her family, and if the fact she's frequently caught alone with toms other than her mate, Foxfur, is anything to go by-- it's clear she's not interested in rekindling the past any longer. Her entire identity has been challenged, and it's taking a lot of soul-searching and distance to find it again.
