Atop the spongy floor, a large, fat toad sat, croaking occasionally, enjoying the trickle of sunlight that filtered through the leaves on the trees high above. A crow cried shrilly from above, spreading its wings and taking the the air, fluttering into the sky in the direction of the dead grass. Occasionally a grasshopper could be heard calling out. The toad hopped forward a step or two before staying still, looking around in search of a fat fly to be his next meal. He was so focused he almost didn't hear a rustle from one of the bushes a few tail-lengths away, but it did catch his attention and he prepared to launch himself forward away from the potential danger. Tragically for the toad, he failed to react quick enough, and before he was able to escape his fate a white flash of fur burst from the bush and he was trapped under two small paws. Pleased, Lightpaw took hold of her prey in her jaws and carried it to an area with more solid ground where she could dig a small rut in the ground for her to stash her catch. She had been sent on a hunting mission and had every intention to catch a large enough amount to impress her clanmates.
After covering the dead toad with earth, Lightpaw cleaned the mud off of her snowy-white paws before continuing on in search of her next victim. It was a warm day at sunhigh and the sunlight shone on her fur, a pleasant feeling. The sky was a brilliant blue with the occasional fluffy white cloud floating by. Lightpaw waved her tail contently, pricking her ears and scenting the air to see if there were any creatures around that would make a nice addition to the fresh-kill pile back at camp.
