appearance
Lionclaw is a pretty large tom, being slightly taller than most and maybe a bit wider. But most of his size can pretty honestly be attributed to the thick and fluffy fur that he has all over his body. The tops of his rather large ears are decorated with long tufts of fur that stick straight up, similar t that of a lynx. He has large paws with wide spaced toes. In between each little black bean shaped toe there are thicker tufts of fur used to help him walk on snow or other surfaces that he needs to balance on top of and have greater grip for. His front paws seem to almost drag the ground with how he moves them, his gait being very distinctive and not like a 'normal' cat. Maybe similar to that of how a horses gait would look with their hooves facing back up until it is time to be placed on the ground, at that point his paws snap forward and plant firmly onto the surface before him. Despite his big size he manages to be pretty sure on his feet and has exceptional balance. Lionclaw is fearsome in battle when using his agility to pin other cats under him. Though he's no war guru he can put up a ferocious fight when his mind is set to it and is a useful ally to have when picking quarrels.
personality
Stoic - Lionclaw isn't one to show his emotions on his face. He doesn't want to ever show any sort of weakness and has trained himself diligently to never show even the barest hint of an emotion that he doesn't wish to share. He can often times come of a cold or arrogant because of this and finds it hard to maintain friendships. Most cats want a friend who will openly joke with them and talk about issues. Not a one sided conversation with muttered words of sympathy and awkward comforting gestures. He strives to be a good warrior and feels that if he lets his emotions get in the way of his work then he will become weak and not be able to reign them in when it is necessary to serve his clan.
[break]
Loyal - This tabby tom would very quickly and very willingly lay down his life to save any member of his clan. He is completely and one hundred percent devoted to Skyclan and would do anything and everything within his power to ensure that the clan is happy and healthy. He puts their needs before himself. If they are low on food, he will go out and hunt without any questions. He won't allow himself to eat or rest until he felt that the pile was back in a suitable state. He takes family and friendships very seriously and if anyone is to try and harm those that he cares for is in for a world of hurt.
[break]
Serious - It's not that Lionclaw doesn't like jokes and having fun. It's simply that he doesn't get most of them, and for that others believe him to be an incredibly serious dog. It's very rare that he finds any jokes others make amusing and even though he tries hard to smile and be jovial when someone is attempting to be funny he ends up just sounding awkward and forced, thus making others uncomfortable and making them want to stop spending time in their company.
[break]
Awkward - Lionclaw is incredibly awkward around cats he finds attractive. It's not that he's naive or confused with the going-ons of sexually charged cats, it's just that he's never been in the position to have any kind of relations like that with others. He has a tough time getting to the touchy-feely, lovey-dovey bits of himself and it would take a lot of coaxing and slowly built interactions in order to get him comfortable with showing his affection so openly.
history
Kithood - Lionclaw was born in a litter of two to an older pair of warriors who had kits only for the sake of being able to say they did at least once in their life. Though the two weren't in love; they didn't hate each other either. In fact they were rather fond of one another, but the love wasn't there. They felt no physical attraction to each other, not stirring lust rising inside them, just a mutual respect and friendship that wound up in them raising a small family together.
[break][break]The two were very loving and devoted parents and worked hard to raise their kits into fine apprentices. The two kits were never upset that their parents didn't act like all the others did. In fact they enjoyed it more. They had older parents that had experienced much of the world and they kits knew nothing would tear them apart like jealousy or any sort of betrayal. And so they coasted up to their apprentice ceremony with ease.
[break]
Apprenticeship - Lionclaw was assigned to a crotchety older warrior named Hawkfang who absolutely refused to retire into the elders' den. His own father was still an apprentice when the older tom had had his warrior ceremony. But despite that Lionpaw's mentor was very adept at teaching. He was a wizened old cat with plenty of scars littering his pelt. His quick tongue and harsh voice kept young Lionpaw on his toes and the two ended up very close. Hawkfang admired the young cats loyalty and determination and the young cat in turn felt very in awe of all the knowledge held in that one cat.
[break][break] When Lionpaw's sister suffered the unfortunate fate of running in to an angry fox when she was on her own, Hawkfang was there to comfort the young cat and teach him how to reign in his emotions. He showed the cat how to channel his energy towards working harder to become a devoted member of the clan and to practicing the skills that he had already acquired.
[break]
Warrior - It was a proud moment for Hawkfang and Lionpaw's parents when he was given his new name, Lionclaw. All three of the older cats retired to the elders den once the fierce young cat was christened a warrior. Many moons after Lionclaw had been named a warrior Hawkfang passed. The young cat felt the pain deep within in, but with the control taught to him by the old tom he managed to move on and now strives to become a warrior that Hawkfang would be proud of.
