[break]
There is not odd nor insanely spectacular about this young tom. At first glance, one only sees some feline, but not the story or life he leads. To the common outsider, Crowheart is but a rough-around-the-edges sort of tom, just some feral. The tom is not overly welcoming in appearance, but what sort of warrior would be in these days anyways? All the same, Crowheart does not deal his blows through intimidation, not via the appearance sense anyway. To put it bluntly, the tom is pure black on colour, contrast to a set of vivid honey eyes.[break]
[break]
In delving a bit deeper, one might grow aware of the little details that may make Crowheart who he is today. Take, for example, the tom's size. In nature, Crowheart is not a huge Goliath of a warrior, yet nor is he small. Unlike some of his fellow comrades, Crowheart is not broad in the shoulders, large in the paws, nor tough in the bones. All the same, he is not blessed with the grace of daintiness. Oddly enough, Crowheart is built to be long and slim. He's tall in the limbs - taller than most anyway. Lining such a narrow bone structure are weaves of long, lean muscles, tweaked for perfection given his size. Crowheart is narrow in the shoulders and haunches, accompanied by a small ribcage and abdomen. What this lacks for in brute strength, is easily made up in speed and wiry reflexes. The tom is not excessively fast, nor unstoppably strong, but this needn't matter to the young feline. For it isn't necessarily these qualities that make up a warrior of success, but rather the wit behind it.
[break][break]
personality[break]
Proud, cunning, overly-analytical, loyal, determined, reserved, calculating, quick-witted, strategic.
[break][break]
There are so many angles to Crowheart, like a broken mirror, shattered into a million shards. Each shard indicating a potential action or reaction. The tom is rather unpredictable, in fact, he is anything but easy to predict. Like his blood which pulses through his clan, Shadowclan, the warrior is strong and conniving. At first glance, Crowheart is calm, reserved. To the outside world, he is but a shadow, still as stone with the eyes of a hawk. The tom isn't in it for control. It isn't for power, or victory, or pride - it's survival. He's not all paws on deck when it comes to the affairs of his clan mates, in fact, he'd sooner sit back and watch ignited tempers from the sidelines, than break up a quarrel. The tom is curious of those around him, eager to get into minds, see what makes 'people' tick the way they do. Yet Crowheart is never an active participant of such an investigation, for he thrives in the realm of observation. Detached as he seems, Crowheart can come across as rather nonchalant, observing. Perhaps this is true, as Crowheart believes his clan mates must learn from their mistakes or they won't learn at all; a form of tough love in that sense.
[break][break]
In taking a gander beyond that stern shell, within that ever complex mind of his, one might learn a few things. Below that silent exterior, is the mind of a warrior. Hell, if Crowheart were to speak his thoughts as quickly as he thought them, he may have had more enemies than he did allies. For this exact reason, self discipline is a virtue. The ever watching Crowheart is always making mental notes, planning and scheming. The tom is not as power hungry as he may come across, but he will do whatever it takes to ensure Shadowclan is and always will be thriving. This is what makes the tom so dangerous - a wild card. He's like a crouching predator, stern and waiting. See, Crowheart's got a particular motivation about him. Nothing matters, as long as Shadowclan goes on to survive. This is what gives him that lethal edge. Nothing matters outside of Shadowclan, so if surviving means running over all those that stand to oppose that survival, then so be it. What he sees as loyalty and dedication to a cause, outsiders may see as blood-lust and malicious intent. This is what could make the tom a villain in his story of heroism.
[break][break]
Crowheart does not always see the sense in getting in his enemy's face, but would rather use strategy to whip them back into their place. The tom can be blunt with his words and happens to be extremely opinionated, but never will he reveal to the world his frustrations, but rather strikes back when the time be appeals to Shadowclan. Though Crowheart is not a tom of many words, he is extremely straight forward and strategic in his way of thinking.
[break][break]
Despite the fact Crowheart is not your affectionate, 'all paws on deck' sort of warrior, he cares for his clan to the world's end. There is nothing, nothing, nothing that would place itself before the well being of Shadowclan. Admittedly, the tom is a little rough around the edges. He tends to be self sacrificial and may even become merciless if his clan really depended on it. This tom is not only pro-Shadowclan, but he lives, breathes, and thinks in the interests of his clan, be it he is in the equation or not.

history[break]
A new world.[break]
Crowheart's life began just like any other. It started with two common warriors, young lovers in fact. They had started out like siblings, competitors. The two were roughly the same age, possibly a moon or two apart. They had pretty much grown up together, from sharing the nursery or fighting to be the best apprentice. The two competed in almost anything and everything they could, hosting harmless banters and mock fights. The competitions had been harmless, a dual among friends. As the two grew into young warriors, their outlook on each other changed in the slightest of ways. The brother-sister bond melted away, like salt dissolving in a rainstorm. Before either of them realized what had really been happening, sibling affections quickly became a new form of affections.
[break][break]
And from the young love, Crowkit was born. Crowkit had a slim shadow of a kit, taking on the traits of his father. His brother, on the other hand, was a small brown tabby. Unlike Crowkit; however, the tabby kit was weak and ill. By the following sunrise, he would walk among StarClan, leaving Crowkit to fend alone. Nonetheless, Crowkit remained strong and started his life with an iron will. Before long, his mother would be returning to the warriors den and he himself would migrate to a completely new lifestyle.
[break][break]
Survival of the fittest.[break]
At six moons young, Crowkit acquired a new name, for now, he would be known only as Crowpaw. At this stage in his life, the ink black tom had officially become an apprentice. Crowpaw had been given a mentor that could be equally as stubborn as he, this tom was known as Adderfang. The duo occasionally butt heads, but what mentor and apprentice pair did not? Not that the two would run on mindless banters that got no one anywhere, as they both ran strongly on intellect. Each character; however, simply had a different idea on how things should be done. And Crowpaw, being the opinionated apprentice that he was, hesitated not to voice these viewpoints.
[break][break]
Despite everything, this was when the young tom did his growing up. He grew to know the world around him, and learn of the dangers it posed. Crowpaw had become very independent and studied vigorously to become a warrior. The tom had not been overly close with his mother, nor his father, so it had not been all too devastating when his father's limp body had returned to camp, mangled and broken after a vicious confrontation with a fox. Crowpaw did not see his mother around as much after that, and close bonds with the other apprentices were scarce. But that was simply who he was, Crowpaw was stronger when he did not have to depend nor rely on others.
[break][break]
Becoming the world.[break]
The day had at last come, the day every apprentice dreamed of. Crowpaw knew very well it was time his mentor discuss the apprentice's training. Now it was only a matter of the review Adderfang would award him. Sometime the next day, everything Crowpaw had worked for would finally pay off. The ink black tom had slept scarcely the night before, waiting in curious anticipation.
[break][break]
Crowpaw remembered the feeling of it all. He remembered gathering with his clan mates in the heart of the Shadowclan camp and seeing their great leader looming at the mouth of his den. At last, the mighty tom raised his head and his voice rang out into the hollow below. A shiver had lulled upon Crowpaw's spine and his head had snapped up attentively as he of all felines were to be called out before the clan. A glow of pride surged through Crowpaw, forcing him to forget any stage fright or shy nature that may have harnessed him. After that, well, we all know the story. The mighty leader called upon Starclan, called upon his mentor and finally called upon Crowpaw. They had exchanged the ceremonial words and Crowpaw had given the promise to forever defend his clan, even at the cost of his life.
[break][break]
From that day forth, the shadow warrior would be known as Crowheart. Crow, for the onyx colour of his fur - heart, for his devotion to Shadowclan.
[break][break]
Baby steps.[break]
Some odd moons later, Crowheart received his first apprentice. Her name was Acornpaw. Now this little she-kit was a handful, one the young warrior had never bargained for. She was a feisty little thing, full of piss and vinegar that could make even Crowheart loose the quick of his tongue. The two often clashed, much like he and his former mentor had. Yet they managed to work through it, somehow. Midway through Acornpaw's training, she was overcome by illness. Disease had sunk its claws in and plagued the clans, yet Starclan could provide no answers. Strange things were happening in the forest, warriors were coming by injuries that could not be explained and tragedy seemed to grip the clans by the throat. Yet Acornpaw was strong and she managed to overcome the illness that plagued her. Slowly but surely, she regained her strength and was able to complete her training, earning herself the name Acornflight.
