Cloudwhisker slept alone the warriors den, this was normal for the large she-cat. Her nest was to the edge of the den. The storm cloud coloured she-cat, opened her aquamarine eyes. Scanning the warriors den, finding most cats were still asleep and the sun low in the sky. She got to her paws and stretched arching her back, as a yawn escaped her jaws. Gently stepping around other warriors she made her way blinking into the sunlight. She looked over at the fresh kill pile though had no indention to eat, she noticed the sparseness of the kill pile.
She made her way out the camp wondering where she'd find the best hunt. She remembered the dirt thunderpath. Though she'd have to be careful the plump rats that came from the twolegs was just the clan needed. Picking up her paws she walked over the dry, new leaf soil. Which she welcomed she hated how the mud stuck to her long fur.
Reaching the other side of the dirt thunderpath she found what she so wanted. A fat rat. She quickly got into a hunting crouch, she became light on her feet. Using her hind legs she launched her self at the rat. Finding it under her paws she gave a quick bite to it's neck.

Blizzardclaw had been up abnormally early that day. The sun hadn't even yet tinged the sky, yet the deputy was unable to go back to sleep. It wasn't entirely an unusual occurrence, so he did what he usually did: he silently left the den, nodded to the warrior on guard duty, and went hunting.
Newleaf had finally come, and it was like the forest was making up for how dead it's been. It was like every bush was alive with rustling things, even this early in the morning. Blizzardclaw left most of them alone; he only caught a mouse and a shrew by the time he got all the way to the dirt thunderpath.
A fat rat was in view, but so was a gray pelt that was incredibly familiar to Blizzardclaw. He dropped back to watch his former apprentice in her stalking, feeling very much like no time had passed at all since he'd last assessed her skill. Cloudwhisker had come a long way from that incredibly shy and awkward she-cat he'd first met.
Soon Cloudwhisker had a piece of fresh-kill under her paws, and Blizzardclaw stepped out to review himself. "Well done, Cloudwhisker!" he purred. "You were well taught, of course, if I do say so myself!" His whiskers twitched in amusement and his eyes glittered with good humor.

The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love someone else Cloudwhisker was silent to pray to Starclan for her kill. But a rustle in bushes close made her alert. An all to familiar pelt showed it self. The emotions changed inside the long furred she-cat, she felt happiness and relief. She smiled with a quick nod of her head she spoke "good morning, Blizzardclaw". Not long after he sung her praises about her kill.
Though their mentor, apprentice days were over a rumbling purr came from her chest. Though she was a young warrior now, the sound of her former mentor praise her made her nothing but happy. Gently picking the fresh kill in her mouth, she walked over to and found a spot to dig the rat in.
She turned to her old mentor with a smile. "What brings you out here? I hope you're not trying to asses me again. After all I learnt from the best!" she purred proudly. Though training was shaky in the first moons. Cloudwhisker almost being untrainable. Seeing how far she come. Cloudwhisker couldn't help but be proud, of what Blizzardclaw had thought her.

She seemed both happy and relieved to see it was only him. It wasn't exactly a surprise to see that reaction, though. Moons had passed but she still didn't seem very comfortable speaking to strangers or cats she didn't know well, even her Clanmates.
Blizzardclaw watched her pick up her rat and bury it. After it was good and covered, Cloudwhisker turned to him with a purr. "What brings you out here? I hope you're not trying to asses me again. After all I learnt from the best!" Rarely seen mischief gleamed in her eyes, and Blizzardclaw had to stifle a laugh. Didn't want to scare away any more prey than they already had.
He cleared his throat before speaking. "Of course not. You're a grown warrior, even if you're one of the youngest currently in the Clan. You hardly need me to hover over your shoulder anymore to correct your hunting crouch." He nodded to the mound of disturbed earth, where she'd buried her freshkill. "I imagine we had the same idea; early morning hunting for the Clan."
He refused to admit he'd woken up early and needed to be alone. That would only worry her or make her think he didn't want her around. StarClan knows Cloudwhisker had enough confidence issues without him accidentally bringing her down. "Wanna hunt together? Two cats means more prey, after all!"

The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love someone else. [attr="class","medcontainer"] [attr="class","medicon"] Cloudwhisker couldn't help but feel pride run from the tip of ears to the tip of her tail, she was one the youngest warriors. But that didn't mean she wasn't a good one! Though a long way off an apprentice and likely to never become deputy. She had to do work, whether hunting or boarder portals. But really she wasn't out here for either, but she didn't want to waste her talents no.
Cloudwhisker let out a sheepish smile. "Yes. I guess we did Blizzardclaw" she said quietly. She had noticed there was something not right about his answer. But did she want to ask? Or was she digging to deep. The young storm coloured warriior didn't want to step on any ones paws. "Are you sure Blizzardclaw? After all you're the deputy. Other cats could do this for you?" She winced slightly. Her brain just told her not to step on any ones paws and now look at her! She looked at Blizzardclaw in a somewhat shock. "I... I'm Deeply s-sorry!"
